We depict an age during which our nation was being forged; from the first Viking incursions of the 790’s, up to the Battle of Hastings in 1066. Our aim is to provide an educational and entertaining portrayal of this tumultuous period in our nation’s past. From the lord (or Thegn), to the lowly peasant, employing costumes and props as accurately as we can make them with equal emphasis placed on both the daily life as well as the more warlike aspects of the age.
The heart of the main display is a warriors' encampment. Here the public are encouraged to try on helmets, handle the blunt weapons, and see some of the crafts our ancestors practised in an space where children as well as adults have the opportunity to learn about history and the life of the past in an enjoyable, safe and exciting manner.
Our warriors train regularly, and this means we can stage re-enactments, which give a thrilling interpretation of Dark Age warfare in a controlled, dramatic and safe environment. Whether for a County show, a village fete, or a local school, we take pride in the authenticity & the entertainment value of our displays. Events are individually tailored to a client’s needs, with full 3rd party insurance for their peace of mind.
